Hailsham Carnival Queen 2011 is Crowned

The third coronation of Lark in the Park Hailsham Carnival Queen took place on Saturday 16th April 2011.  The judges for the evening were Mayor Councillor Robyn Kempe, Mrs Caroline Kempe, Councillor Stella Henshaw and also Ruby Hamadai Carnival Queen 2010/2011.  Compere and interviewer for the evening was Mike Hooper, and also present at the event was one of Lark in the Park’s Patrons Mr. Dec Cluskey of The Bachelors.

The evening began with meeting the entrants for the Fairy Princesses, possible Carnival Queens for the future.  Frankie Clarke, Terri-Loise Clarke, and Mellissa Sewell were chosen to represent the under tens.

After the interval the judging continued to find the Carnival Queen and Princesses for the forthcoming year.  After deliberation the Judges chose the Toni Sefton as Queen and the Princesses are Robyn Teague and Amelia Light.  Commended for her entrance was runner up Kelly Hewitt.  The Royal Court was then crowned by Ruby Hamadai, our outgoing Carnival Queen.  We are grateful once again to Asda for sponsoring the event, and the evening was played out by Phil Murrell’s disco.
